Optimization of the Process Parameters of an Air-Screen Cleaning System for Frozen Corn Based on the Response Surface Method

Abstract: The threshing of frozen corn is accompanied by breakage and adherence, which influence the cleaning performance when the corn-cleaning mixture is separated and cleaned. In order to reduce the impurity ratio and loss ratio during frozen corn cleaning and provide theoretical support for frozen corn combine harvesting, this study employed a self-made air-screen cleaning system with adjustable parameters. The optimal process parameters of frozen corn cleaning were determined by using the response surface method (R… Show more

“…With the development of the times, the progress of science, and the emergence of more and more new materials have promoted the development of mechanical engineering, for example, diamond, cubic boron nitride, ultra-fine grain carbide, ceramics and cermets are widely used in dry cutting tools [6] .Among the materials used in dry cutting tools, cemented carbide has good heat resistance, but poor toughness; High speed steel is the opposite of cemented carbide, but cobaltcontaining high speed steel can properly compensate for the defects of high speed steel in terms of heat resistance. Due to its extremely high red hardness and hardness second only to diamond, cubic boron nitride is suitable for machining hardened ferrous metals, and is the best choice for turning instead of grinding, solving the problem of cutting fluid required for grinding.…”

“…(c) Wood (cypress) (d) Polyurethane Based on the above-mentioned analysis and comparison of the shelling quality and wear, polyurethane has superior shelling quality among the selected flexible materials and is relatively the most wear resistant. In addition, the elastic modulus of polyurethane ranges from 5 to 600 MPa [33], which made it possible to carry out the test under the condition of the required elastic modulus; therefore, it was used as the material for the key components in the subsequent experiments.…”

“…To overcome the dimensionality crisis, work [5] proposed replacing the numerical modeling of the workflow with the «response surface». Such a surface is understood as some approximation or regression model of the behavior of the object, depending on the studied parameters of the workflow (ope-rating conditions).…”
