Optimization of the Control Algorithm for an Active Bearing Support

Abstract: This article presents a spindle system with an active bearing support for which the author proposed a control system based on a PID controller. This type of solution improves the mechanical properties of this spindle by changing the stiffness, which results in a wider range of permissible rotational speeds, lower power losses and an increased resistance to vibrations of the entire system.
