Abstract:Due to the low impedance and high feeding currents, it is naturally challenging to design super-directive antenna arrays that perfectly match the feed line, and this becomes almost impossible as the number of elements increases. In this paper, we assert that it is crucial to consider the tradeoff between directivity and overall efficiency (to achieve high realized gain) before employing super-directive arrays in realworld applications. Given this trade-off (high directivity and low mismatch for high realized g… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
