Intelligent transportation systems enhance the potential for sustainable, user-friendly, and efficient transport. By eliminating driver costs, autonomous buses facilitate the redesign of networks, timetables, and fleet structure in a cost-effective manner. The electrification of bus fleets offers the opportunity to further improve the environmental sustainability of transportation networks, but requires adjustments to vehicle schedules due to the limited range and charging requirements. This paper examines the intricate relationship between electrification and autonomous buses. To this end, timetables for autonomous electric buses of different sizes were developed for a real bus route in Aachen, Germany. The resulting electric vehicle scheduling problem was then solved using an adaptive large neighborhood search to determine the number of vehicles needed and the total cost of ownership. By eliminating driver costs, vehicles with lower passenger capacity become much more attractive, albeit at a slightly higher cost. In comparison, the incremental costs of electrification are low if the right approach is taken. Fluctuations in typical passenger numbers can be used to modify timetables and vehicle schedules to accommodate the charging needs of autonomous electric buses. In particular, electric bus concepts with fewer charging stations and lower charging power benefit from adapting the timetable to passenger numbers. The results demonstrate that the specific requirements of electric buses should be considered when adapting networks and timetables in order to design a sustainable transport network.

Transportation as support for accessibility in reaching tourist attraction areas. This’s necessary to develop the tourism sector to be more lively. To support tourism activities, modes of transportation are needed, both private vehicles, public transportation, and online transportation. This study is to determine the characteristics of domestic tourists in the selection of transportation modes to Matahari Terbit Beach. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out using the chi-square test of independence with the help software SPSS. The results of the study, 8 indicators that influence the choice of transportation mode, namely age, work, the origin of domicile, time of visit, reasons for choosing the mode, travel distance, travel costs, and length of the trip. Knowing this, it’s hoped can add insight into tourism transportation services in Bali to further improve performance and recovery steps for the tourism sector in Bali to recover soon. ABSTRAK Transportasi sebagai penunjang aksesibilitas dalam menjangkau daerah objek wisata. Hal ini diperlukan agar dapat mengembangkan sektor pariwisata menjadi lebih hidup. Untuk menunjang kegiatan pariwisata dibutuhkan moda transportasi, baik kendaraan pribadi, angkutan umum maupun angkutan online. Tujuan kajian adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik wisatawan domestik dalam pemilihan moda transportasi menuju Pantai Matahari Terbit. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji chi-square test of independence bantuan software SPSS. Adapun hasil kajian yaitu terdapat 8 faktor yang mempengaruhi pemilihan moda transportasi yaitu usia, pekerjaan, asal domisili, waktu kunjungan, alasan pemilihan moda, jarak tempuh perjalanan, biaya perjalanan, dan lama perjalanan. Dengan mengetahui faktor pemilihan moda wisatawan domestik diharapkan dapat menambah wawasan bagi penyedia jasa transportasi wisata di Bali untuk lebih meningkatkan kinerja serta langkah pemulihan sektor pariwisata di Bali agar segera pulih kembali.

Transportation functions as a link between tourist destinations. Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the transportation industry has experienced direct impacts. One is a decrease in transportation users due to increased travel costs. This has a direct impact on reducing public interest in visiting. This research aims to find out changes in services for inter-provincial buses in Bali during and after the pandemic. The data used is departure data: the number of autobus suppliers; the number of departing destinations; the number of trips; and the average number of passengers from January 2018 to April 2022. From this data, time series analysis and forecasting were carried out using the Minitab software. The findings of a time series study regarding the number of trips, the number of bus suppliers, and the average number of passengers have decreased over time. Still, the number of departure destinations from the island of Bali has increased. Based on the forecasting results, it is known that the number of bus suppliers and the number of departure destinations has increased. However, it does not match the data for January 2018. This shows that the connectivity of Bali Island and the surrounding islands has increased after the COVID-19 pandemic subsided. It is hoped that it can be used as material for formulating public transportation strategies and policies, especially inter-provincial bus services.
