Optimization of Photovoltaic Characteristics of CIGS/Si Heterojunction Solar Cells

Abstract: The effect of varying the thickness of Silicon window layer, the band gap of CIGS absorber layer and the temperature of the junction on the photovoltaic characteristics of CIGS/Si heterojunction solar cells is investigated. In this, context the photovoltaic characteristics and efficiency of the proposed solar cell were determined. The results suggest that as the thickness of the Si window layer was lowered from 0.5 µm to 0.1 µm the efficiency increases significantly from 5.43 % to 7.02 %. The highest value of … Show more

“…In most cases, conjugation to nanoparticles resulted in enhanced antibacterial activity against Gram-positive pathogens. [52][53][54][55]57,59] Most intriguingly, several studies report the largest enhancements in activity for vancomycinresistant strains such as VRE and VRSA. [52,53,55,64] As has been shown in the work of Hassan et al, [64] this enhanced antimicrobial activity is tightly related to vancomycin multimerization on the nanoparticle surface, which enables the simultaneous binding of the conjugates to multiple copies of the cell wall precursor peptides and thereby compensates for the lower binding affinity of the monomers.…”

“…Kaur and Kumar investigated the influence of stabilizing capping ligands on the non-specific adsorption of vancomycin on gold nanoparticles and the bactericidal activity of the resulting nanoparticle formulations. [54] They employed citrate-capped, polypyrrolidone-capped, and Tween20-capped gold nanoparticles with diameters of 8.67 AE 0.49, 23.10 AE 1.90, and 14.17 AE 0.28 nm, respectively. Vancomycin was immobilized on these nanoparticles by non-specific adsorption, which resulted in a slight increase in the nanoparticle diameter for all capping ligands.…”

“…The band gap of the material is also correlated with the thickness of the p-CdTe layer, which decreases with increasing thickness. The band gap of the p-CdTe material plays a vital role in enhancing the photovoltaic properties, absorption ability, and lifetime of carriers [29], [30], [31]. The impact of band gap alteration on the PCE of modulated heterojunctions was investigated in this work.…”

“…Current solar cell generations that utilize solution-based methods, such as organic, dye-sensitized, quantum dot, and perovskitebased technologies, [1][2][3][4] have made signicant advances in recent years compared to traditional silicon-and thin-lm-based solar cells. 5,6 Metal halide perovskite solar cells have been extensively studied, have shown considerable performance improvements, and are the subject of further commercial investigation. 7,8 Perovskite solar cells are recognized for their usefulness and efficiency.…”
