Optimization of novel halophilic lipase production by Fusarium solani strain NFCCL 4084 using palm oil mill effluent

Abstract: Among different sources of lipases, fungal lipases have continued to attract a wide range of applications. Further, halophilic lipases are highly desirable for biodiesel production due to the need to mitigate environmental pollution caused as result of extensive use of fossil fuels. However, currently, the high production cost limits the industrial application of lipases. In order to address this issue, we have attempted to optimize lipase production by Fusarium solani NFCCL 4084 and using palm oil mill efflue… Show more

“…On the contrary, the presence of 0.05 g/L CaCl 2 exhibited a highly negative impact on the response (E = − 7.390). Similarly, Geoffry and Achur ( 2018a ), reported that the variable CaCl 2 influences negatively on the production of a lipase activity from Fusarium solani . Oppositely, the supplementation of this salt is favorable for the synthesis of a lipase activity using Rhizopus arrhizus MTCC 2233 (Rajendran and Thangavelu 2009 ).…”

“…Due to their high transphosphatidylation and hydrolytic activities PLDs isolated from Actinomycete strains are commercially available and used in several industrialized procedures [ 110 ]. Mostly the bacterial genera for the production of lipases and phospholipases have been reconnoitered are Pseudomonas , Bacillus and Streptomyces , followed by Burkholderia , Chromobacterium , Achromobacter , Alcaligenes and Arthrobacter [ 111 ]. Some lipases producing microorganisms reveal new sources and applications of industrial enzymes as shown in Table 1 .…”

“…Plackett‐Burmann (PB) experimental design is another statistical method that has been utilized for initial screening of the most important culture medium components and parameters among variables for the enhanced halophilic lipase secretion by Marinobacter litoralis SW‐45. Geoffry and Achur recently revealed that the combinatorial statistical optimization strategy enhanced the halophilic lipase secretion by 3.2‐fold, compared with the unoptimized experiment.…”
