Optimization of male sex attractants for Orthosis cruda Schiff., O. Munda Schiff. and O. stabilis Schiff. (Lep., Noctuidae)

Abstract

Synthetic male sex attractants have been optimized for 3 Orthosia species, all of them potential orchard pests. To detect the occurrence of these species, baits consisting of a dose of 1000 μg of a 20:1 mixture of (Z)‐11‐hexadecen‐1‐ol and (Z)‐11‐hexadecenal; of 1000 μg of a 100:1 mixture of (Z)‐11‐hexadecenal and (Z)‐9‐tetradecenal; and of a dose of 1000–100 μg of a 20:1 mixture of (Z)‐11‐hexadecenyl acetate and (Z)‐9‐tetradecenyl acetate are recommended for O. munda, O. stabilis and O. cruda, respectively. Zusammenfassung Versuche zur Optimierung der männlichen Sexualduftstoffe bei Orthosia cruda Schiff., O. munda Schiff. und O. stabilis Schiff. (Lep., Noctuidae) Es wurden die synthetischen Sexualduftstoffe für 3 Orthosia‐Arten, die als potentielle Obstschädlinge bekannt sind, optimiert. Zur Feststellung des Vorkommens der 3 Arten wurden folgende Köder eingesetzt: 1000 μg einer 20:1 Mischung von (Z)‐11‐hexadecen‐1‐ol und (Z)‐11‐hexadecenal; 1000 μg einer 100:1 Mischung von (Z)‐11‐hexadecenal und (Z)‐9‐tetradecenal; 1000–100 μg einer 20:1 Mischung aus (Z)‐11‐hexadecenyl acetat und (Z)‐9‐tetradecenyl acetat — und zwar in der gen. Reihenfolge für O. munda, O. stabilis und O. cruda.
