Optimization of healthcare supply chain in context of macro-ergonomics factors by a unique mathematical programming approach

Abstract: This study presents an integrated approach for analyzing the impact of macro-ergonomics factors in healthcare supply chain (HCSC) by data envelopment analysis (DEA). The case of this study is the supply chain (SC) of a real hospital. Thus, healthcare standards and macro-ergonomics factors are considered to be modeled by the mathematical programming approach. Over 28 subsidiary SC divisions with parallel missions and objectives are evaluated by analyzing inputs and outputs through DEA. Each division in this HCS… Show more

“…Based on the developed fuzzy network DEA model, Pournader et al [103] evaluated risk resilience of the overall SC and their individual tiers. The DEA method was also used by Azadeh et al [104] for analyzing the impact of macro-ergonomic factors in healthcare SC. Further, Amalnick and Saffar [24] conducted an analysis of the impacts of resilience engineering and ergonomic factors in aerospace SC using DEA.…”

“…Based on the analysis and type of data, this study was included in the combined study because this study used quantitative and qualitative data. While the observed objects of research are machine and equipment, physical work environment conditions, layouts, work methods, organization policy, and workers within the scope of rubber processing plants [5,6,7,8]. There were 25 samples in total sampling technique used in this research and data collected through observation, open and closed questionnaire to the respondent and measuring heat felt by the worker using Heat Stress Index.…”

“…According to Henrik and Kleiner, Macro-Ergonomics is an approach that studies how to optimize the organization and design of the work system by considering human, technological, and environmental variables, as well as interactions between these variables and ensuring the work system in harmony. [2,5,6,7,8] Moist work environment, heat, dust, and the lack of air circulation in the production section make the operator uncomfortable for work. Mudji state that the physical work environment affects health and indirectly influences productivity and occupational safety [9,10].…”

“…Both studies apply the same method provided in Maddah and Jaber (2008). A wide attention has been given to both papers by Khan et al (e.g., Chang et al (2016), Azadeh et al (2016), andHou et al (2015)). Khan et al (2011Khan et al ( , 2014 neglect the independence of random variables, (for example, the cycle length = (1− )(1− 1 ) is relevant to the percentage of defective items ) when the properties of the expectation of random variables are applied, which results in minor errors.…”
