Optimization of Gold Dissolution Parameters in Acidified Thiourea Leaching Solution with Hydrogen Peroxide as an Oxidant: Implications of Roasting Pretreatment Technology

Abstract: The nature of gold (Au) ore deposits plays an essential role in determining the best gold recovery method as an alternative to cyanidation, considering environmental concerns. Thiourea (Tu) leaching of gold is an alternative lixiviant for treating sulfide gold ores and concentrates. The present study investigated the leaching behavior of Au from sulfide gold ore concentrates obtained from the Cripple Creek site (Newmont operated mine) using acidified thiourea solution. The concentrates containing pyrite, K-fel… Show more

“…In most cases, the geostatistical methods for the three-dimensional interpolation of spatial data are performed on the basis of stochastic methods (kriging) [ 38 ] in pure form or in combination with machine learning (for example, ANN [ 39 ] or random forest method [ 40 ]). Thus, the use of “classical” deterministic methods (for example, the k-nearest neighbor method or the finite elements method) is significantly reduced.…”

“…En esta reacción, el oro se oxida desde su estado elemental hasta un estado de oxidación "+3", formando un complejo de tiourea de oro. El proceso es más rápido que la lixiviación con cianuro, pues la tiourea es un agente oxidante más fuerte (Munganyinka et al, 2022).…”
