Optimization of Design and Performance Characteristics of Heating System of Press Equipment

Abstract: The manufacturing of rubber products has a steady growth. Thereby modernization of existing and design of new advanced equipment for this industry is a topical problem. The article is devoted to optimization of design and performance characteristics of press equipment's heating system, realizing the process of hot vulcanization rubber in molds. The optimization methodic is based on minimization of temperature difference on the platen's working surface and can be applied to platens with any type of heating. The… Show more

“…Since the analysis of the objects described by partial differential equations requires considerable CPU time, it is quite effective to use the theory of experimental design [7]. According to this theory, a complex objective function is replaced by a multidimensional (in terms of the number of variable variables or factors) polynomial.…”

“…For this, a series of computational experiments is carried out at strictly defined points of the factor space, the totality of which is called the experimental design. It was shown in [7] that when optimizing the temperature fields of the heating plates of presses, a high efficiency (accuracy of approximation) was demonstrated by the Box-Behnken non-compositional design and the rotatable design, whose informational function is an isosurfaces in the form of concentric hyperspheres.…”

“…However, the application of these techniques to real CTP control technologies is associated with certain difficulties, rooted in a variety of influencing parameters and complex and highly nonlinear nature of their impact on the transient response [16][17][18].…”
