Optimising Nonlinear Interferometers for Sensing and Imaging: Gain, Loss, and Seeding

Abstract: We show experimentally that adjusting gain in nonlinear interferometry can improve interference visibility and reduce the optical power exposing an object. We further demonstrate that seeding an interferometer input can improve both visibility and contrast.
