This paper focuses on how to use IoT technologies to monitor the project implementation process in prefabricated building (PB) construction, which will help optimize the construction schedule and ensure the quality and safety of PB construction. Although IoT monitoring can obtain a large amount of data during construction, the challenge is how to convert these data into intelligent information needed for feasible decision-making. Therefore, we need to clarify the key factors requiring monitoring during construction and how to use these data to make decisions. In this paper, we analyze the whole process of PB construction, comprising five phases: pre-construction, off-site manufacturing, delivery, on-site assembly, and finishing. Through mathematical model formulation to discover the key factors that affect the construction implementation process, we clarify the monitoring data that need to be obtained by IoT technologies. Using these monitoring data, it is possible to make judgments on process abnormalities, promptly give alarms, make proactive adjustments, and optimize the construction implementation process, thus achieving the goal of ensuring project quality and construction safety.

This paper analyzes a problem processing mechanism in a new collaboration system between the main manufacturer and the supplier in the "main manufacturer-supplier" mode, which has been widely applied in the collaborative development management of the complex product. This paper adopts the collaboration theory, the evolutionary game theory and numerical simulation to analyze the decision-making mechanism where one upstream supplier and one downstream manufacturer must process an unpredicted problem without any advance contract in common. Results show that both players ' decision-makings are in some correlation with the initial state, income impact coefficients, and dealing cost. It is worth noting that only the initial state influences the final decision, while income impact coefficients and dealing cost just influence the decision process. This paper shows reasonable and practical suggestions for the manufacturer and supplier in a new collaboration system for the first time and is dedicated to the managerial implications on reducing risks of processing problems.

Despite the increasing academic interest and financial support for the Physical Internet (PI), surprisingly little is known about its operationalization and implementation. In this paper, we suggest studying the PI on the basis of the Digital Internet (DI), which is a well‐established entity. We propose a conceptual framework for the PI network using the DI as a starting point, and find that the PI network not only needs to solve the reachability problem, that is, how to route an item from A to B, but also must confront a more complicated optimality problem, that is, how to dynamically optimize a set of additional logistics‐related metrics such as cost, emissions and time for a shipment. These last issues are less critical for the DI and handled using relatively simpler procedures. Based on our conceptual framework, we then propose a simple network model using graph theory to support the operationalization of the PI. The model covers the characteristics of the PI raised in the current literature and suggests future directions for further quantitative analyses.
