MANET is a collection of mobile nodes that communicate through wireless networks as they move from one point to another. MANET is an infrastructure-less network with a changeable topology; as a result, it is very susceptible to attacks. MANET attack prevention represents a serious difficulty. Malicious network nodes are the source of network-based attacks. In a MANET, attacks can take various forms, and each one alters the network's operation in its unique way. In general, attacks can be separated into two categories: those that target the data traffic on a network and those that target the control traffic. This article explains the many sorts of assaults, their impact on MANET, and the MANET-based defence measures that are currently in place. The suggested SRA that employs blockchain technology (SRABC) protects MANET from attacks and authenticates nodes. The secure routing algorithm (SRA) proposed by blockchain technology safeguards control and data flow against threats. This is achieved by generating a Hash Function for every transaction. We will begin by discussing the security of the MANET. This article's second section explores the role of blockchain in MANET security. In the third section, the SRA is described in connection with blockchain. In the fourth phase, PDR and Throughput are utilised to conduct an SRA review using Blockchain employing PDR and Throughput. The results suggest that the proposed technique enhances MANET security while concurrently decreasing delay. The performance of the proposed technique is analysed and compared to the routing protocols Q-AODV and DSR.

In a Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET), mobile nodes play multiple roles as hosts and routers and are dynamically changing multi-hop structures. MANET consists only of wireless nodes with limit processing power, and routing and data transfer are performed through cooperation with each other. It is exposed to many attack threats due to the dynamic topology by the movement of the nodes and the characteristic of multi-hop communication. Therefore, in MANET, a technique that can detect effectively must be applied while detecting malicious nodes and reducing the impact of various attacks. In this paper, we propose an trust based authentication technique for nodes and a distributed monitoring technique to improve the detection performance of malicious nodes. The hierarchical cluster structure was used to improve authentication of nodes and detection performance and management efficiency of malicious nodes. A lightweight authentication technique of member nodes in the cluster was applied and the efficiency of node authentication was improved. It was used to determine whether it was an attack node by transmitting traffic monitoring information for neighbor nodes to CA and using. In addition, the efficient authentication technique using only key exchange without anyone's help was applied in order to provide integrity when exchanging information between cluster heads. Through this, it was possible to be free from trust information about nodes and forgery and falsification of information about attack nodes. The superiority of the technique proposed in this paper was confirmed through comparative experiments with the existing intrusion detection technique.

Packet dropping in a mobile ad hoc network can manifest itself as the data plane attacks as well as control plane attacks. The former deal with malicious nodes performing packet drop on the data packets following the route formation and the latter deal with those malicious nodes which either drop or manipulate the control packets to degrade the network performance. The idea of the proposed approach is that during the route establishment, each of the on-path nodes is provided with pre-computed hash values which have to be used to provide a unique acknowledgement value to the upstream neighbor which acts as a proof of the forwarding activity. The analysis phase results in the detection of nodes which exhibited malicious behavior in the current communication session so as to avoid them in the future communication sessions resulting in an improved packet delivery fraction even in the presence of one or more malicious nodes in the network. The communication overhead incurred is minimum since the acknowledgement reports are sent to the destination for a transmission of N packets rather than an individual acknowledgement for each transmitted packet. In contrast to some of the existing techniques, the proposed mechanism is not dependent on the deployment of additional infrastructure like special Intrusion Detection System (IDS) nodes. The only overhead incurred is in the form of control packets exchanged for the reports request and the reports submission.
