Show more

“…In contrast, fibres and fibre bundles of MDF range from a few micrometres in diameter to a length of one to a few millimetres (Standfest et al 2009). Particles of PB range from few micrometres in diameter to a length of about 20 millimetres (Kruse et al 1997). Corresponding to the particle size significantly lower fracture energy was observed for MDF (196 J/m 2 ) than for PB (321 J/m 2 ) and OSB (391 J/m 2 ).…”

“…ANOVA is also required for determining the error variance for the effects and variance of prediction error. This is to be accomplished by separating the total variability of S/N ratio, which is measured by deviations from the total mean S/N ratio, into contributions of each of the design parameters and the error [1]- [3].…”

“…According to the end use of wood-wastes and their possible reuse products, particleboard found typical appli-cations as flooring, wall and ceiling panels, office dividers, bulletin boards, furniture, cabinets, counter tops, and deck tops [2], and it seems that the manufacture of particleboard from recycled wood-based wastes is the most common way to reuse such waste materials [3] [4]. An extensive review on the hot-compression of plywood and particleboard was published by Bolton and Humphrey [4].…”
