Optimal sizing of Marine Current Energy Based Hybrid Microgrid

Abstract: This paper presents an optimal sizing of a marine current energy-based hybrid microgrid. For this purpose, a particle swarm optimization (PSO) has been developed on Matlab software. An energy management strategy that takes into account the availability of renewable energy and energy consumption at all times has been implemented to meet demand throughout the year. In order to test the performance of the PSO, the results were compared to those obtained by the genetic algorithm (GA). The standard household load p… Show more

“…For the improvement of a sustainable hybrid scheme the PSO be implemented considering the loss of load probability (LLP) and loss of power supply probability (LPSP) criteria. For the attainment of the optimum system design, which contains preferred LLP and LPSP with a least cost an objective function has been computed and a reliability constraint also considered for the calculation of the system cost Lazaar, Fakhri, Barakat, Gualous, and Sabor (2020); Selvam, Velavan, Soundarrajan, et al (2017). Furthermore, PSO technique can be considered assuring a straightforward model, with simply implemented programming, robust approaches to control variables.…”

“…Indeed, in [6], the hydrogen bank was used for a PV-TST system to meet the load during fluctuations. In [7], an islanded DC system was studied, including tidal energy, solar energy, and wind energy, along with battery storage. In [8], as energy storage components, a combination of an electrolyzer, hydrogen storage, and a fuel cell stack was used for a TST system.…”
