Engineering and the industry very often produce above-standard products concerning their dimensions and weights. There is often a problem with the transport of these products both within Europe and in subsequent transport all around the world. Because of these reasons, several projects to remedy the situation were implemented in the Czech Republic. The article describes the results of many years of research, which observed ensuring the passage of oversized cargos on roads. Further, the measurements, which were carried out, are presented in this paper − the measurement of an oversized vehicle using Global Positioning System devices, creation and modelling of missing cars in programs to verify the swept path, comparison of created models with the measurement using Global Positioning System devices. Then the results of the implemented researches, the suggested parameters, and modelled cars are used for the suggestion of technical parameters of backbone network of roads. On these roads, the loads are transported. The results are also used for verification of critical points of the route, e.g. problematic places and intersections.

The transportation of an indivisible load also bears the core definition of load transportation in logistics - delivering a load, considering its starting point as far as its destination, the decision upon the best set of carriers and the best transportation route to minimize final transportation costs. This research aimed at describing the issue regarding transportation of indivisible loads in urban areas where the road system might have limited transportation conditions depending on the complexity of the load. All researched books have come up with a number of situations regarding this type of transportation. From the information collected, it was observed that the transportation scenario and its difficulties were similar; a study has been suggested in order to give examples of how this type of transportation works. Results have shown that height, width, length and weight parameters should consider the transportation infrastructure offered, the appropriate set of carriers and the compliance with all legislations.

Project cargo logistics, with its idiosyncratic logistics processes and transportation of large, heavy and high-value cargoes, is a developing industry in Turkey. Value creation for project cargo transportation plays a critical role in gaining competitiveness in such a unique industry. Hence, the duties of related parties, the main value creation enablers, value creation outcomes and the barriers restricting such value creation should be explored. This paper sets out to provide an understanding on value creation concept of project cargo logistics. Its purpose is to identify the critical enablers of value creation as well as the main outcomes of value creation. An exploratory Delphi study with two rounds is employed. Key enablers include the partner-related and project cargo logistics operations-related dimensions. Critical outcomes have been classified as operational efficiency, service effectiveness and technology adoption/innovation. Findings can assist both operators and governmental bodies in aligning their services and procedures within the value creation perspective.
