Abstract:Optimizing the configuration and overall performance of synchronized modular systems is considered in this paper. The synchronized modules can be considered as a hybrid system, including continuous-time dynamics of local moving devices, combined with high-level discrete event sequences. The continuous-time trajectories are approximated by the Gauss pseudospectral method, resulting in a nonlinear programming (NLP) problem. The optimal configuration generates the maximal production rate subject to dynamic constr… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
