Abstract: Background Stress-induced hyperglycaemia at time of hospital admission has been linked to worse prognosis following acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The stress-hyperglycaemia ratio (SHR) index normalises the acute increase in blood glucose values to background glycaemic status.
