Bu çalışmada asenkron motorlarda optimal rotor oluk ölçülerinin, Sequential Nonlineer Programming (SNP), Genetik Algoritma (GA) ve Sequential Mixed Integer NonLinear Programming (SMINP) yöntemleri ile bulunması gerçekleştirilmiş ve karşılaştırmalı olarak motor performansına olan etkisi incelenmiştir. Gerçekleştirilen optimizasyon çalışmasındaki amaç maksimum motor veriminin sağlandığı oluk geometrisini elde etmektir. Simülasyon çalışmaları, Ansys Maxwell paket programı kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Gerçekleştirilen optimizasyon çalışması sonrasında elde edilen rotor oluk geometrisine göre Ansys Maxwell 2D programında motor modeli oluşturulmuş ve gerekli analizler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, en verimli motor geometrisi GA algoritması kullanıldığında elde edilmektedir..

Two-speed elevator induction machines, because of their economic usage, are still widely used in residential applications of low-and medium-height buildings. In this study, a three-stage method is presented for achieving torque-speed characteristic with an improving low-speed braking curve. In designing a procedure, firstly, a rotor aluminium alloy is changed for reaching the maximum torque at start-up. Secondly, a skew angle of rotor slots is calculated for reducing pulsating torque and smooth high-speed performance and finally, an intermediate ring rotor is proposed in order to reduce the effects of skewing leakage at a low-speed braking curve. The proposed approach for this purpose has been investigated with a finite-element method, and several prototypes have been constructed for confirmation and validation of the presented approach. The accuracy of the proposed analysis is confirmed by experimental tests and laboratory measurements are applied on all prototypes

Design of squirrel cage induction motor for propulsion system is different from that of conventional design. Efficiency, power factor and locked rotor torque are important performance measures of a propulsion system. For an induction motor, the above mentioned parameters are expected to be high. In this paper, the effect of geometrical variations in rotor slot on the performance of induction motor is analyzed. The simulation results are presented for variation in different rotor slot shape. It shows that the shape of the rotor can effect on the performance of the induction motor. Hence, these findings may be helpful to the design engineers for choosing the proper slot dimensions.
