“…A literature search shows that scholars have only researched economic evaluation or cost optimization on a specific submodule of an offshore oil project. Many scholars have conducted studies on the optimal design of oil and gas production systems from the viewpoints of submarine pipeline routes [10], manifold placement and pipeline layout [11], pressure equipment placement [12], floating and subsea layouts [13] and gathering system [14]. These studies aim to reduce the investment cost and risk of the project from the design and layout of the oil and gas gathering pipeline network.…”

“…The model was coded using the General Algebraic Modelling System (GAMS) software package with the CPLEX solver (GAMS, 2020a; GAMS, 2020b). The MIP approach provides us with the flexibility to allow some of the decision variables to be integer constrained (that is, whole numbers such as -1, 0, 1, 2, ...) at the optimal solution point (Williams, 2013; Redutskiy, 2017; Wang et al, 2018). This allows us to expand significantly the scope of useful optimisation problems that we define and solve, and the integrality constraints of the MIP models provide us with a unique ability to capture the discrete nature of some decisions (Calderón and Pekney, 2020;Li et al, 2020;Carvalho and Pinto, 2006).…”

“…Oilfield water injection pipeline network usually adopts the traditional single-pipe multi-well water distribution process mode. In order to reduce the loss rate of the pipeline network, part of the water injection system can be optimized and transformed into a partial pressure injection process mode or partial pressure water injection process mode, thereby improving the efficiency of water injection system pipeline network (Zheng et al 2013;Wang et al 2018).…”
