Cordyceps militaris, a precious medical mushroom, has attracted wide attention in industrial fields. Currently, the degeneration phenomenon of C. militaris commercial strains is amongst the major challenges for cultivation at the industrial scale. The screening for superior strains with high yield and medicinal value is considered a realistic approach to overcome degeneration problems. In the present study, the mycelial growth, primordia formation, yield performance, and cordycepin content of five strains (DT1, DT2, DT3, DT4, and DT5) under artificial cultivation conditions were investigated. All strains showed mycelial growth on SDAY and liquid medium. The strains were successfully cultivated in brown rice medium and required 18 (strain DT3) to 25 days (strain DT5) to form primordia. Additionally, morphological characteristics of fruiting bodies varied among the strains. Strains DT4 and DT3 exhibited the highest fruiting body length with 74.23 ± 5.13 mm and 72.63 ± 2.62 mm, respectively whereas the highest diameter was recorded for strains DT1 (4.05 ± 0.18 mm) and DT2 (3.63 ± 0.12 mm). Of note, among the investigated strains, strain DT3 exhibited the highest biological efficiency (8.95 ± 0.07%) and cordycepin content (1.68 mg/g). Therefore, strain DT3 could be selected as a potential strain for commercial cultivation.

As one of the most precious medicinal mushrooms, Trametes versicolor is widely used in the treatment and prevention of cancer. In an attempt to identify nutritional requirements, this study explores the influence of carbon source (C), nitrogen source (N), and cultivation substrate on the mycelial growth and yield of T. versicolor. The optimal C and N sources and their ratios for the mycelial growth of T. versicolor were fructose and yeast extract at a 3:1, respectively. T. versicolor cultivated on a substrate mixture of 62% sawdust + 30% rice husk + 3% wheat bran + 1% CaCO 3 exhibited the highest biological efficiency (12.58%). The findings in this study will provide important information regarding spawn production and T. versicolor cultivation at an industrial-scale.

Jamur pelapuk putih diketahui memiliki kemampuan untuk mendekolorisasi pewarna, salah satunya jamur Ganoderma sp. dari Kebun Raya Baturraden. Jamur tersebut mampu mendekolorisasi Remazol Brillliant Blue R (RBBR) yang bersifat toksik, mutagenik, karsinogenik, dan stabil terhadap perlakuan fisika maupun kimia, Proses dekolorisasi dapat dipengaruhi oleh faktor lingkungan seperti waktu inkubasi dan pH. Setiap jamur pelapuk putih memiliki waktu inkubasi dan pH optimum yang berbeda dalam mendekolorisasi pewarna. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan isolat Ganoderma sp. dari Kebun Raya Baturraden dengan waktu inkubasi dan pH berbeda dalam mendekolorisasi pewarna RBBR, serta mengetahui variasi waktu inkubasi dan pH yang menunjukkan hasil terbaik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan Perlakuan variasi pada penelitian ini terdiri dari waktu inkubasi yaitu 24, 48, 72, 96, dan 120 jam, serta pH 3, 4, 5, 6, dan 7. Analisis data menggunakan metode Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Ganoderma sp. dari Kebun Raya Baturraden mampu mendekolorisasi RBBR pada waktu inkubasi dan pH berbeda dengan persentase dekolorisasi 4,10% - 83,04%. Persentase dekolorisasi tertinggi ditunjukkan pada waktu inkubasi 96 jam dan pH 6, yaitu 83,04%. Hal tersebut membuktikan bahwa Ganoderma sp. dari Kebun Raya Baturraden memiliki waktu inkubasi optimum 96 jam, serta pH optimum 6 untuk mendekolorisasi RBBR.
