Optical Limiting Characteristics of Core-Shell Nanoparticles

Abstract: Abstract-TiO 2 nanoparticles were synthesized by hydrothermal method at 180˚C from TiOSO 4 aqueous solution with1m/l concentration. The obtained products were coated with silica by means of a seeded polymerization technique for a coating time of 1440 minutes to obtain well defined TiO 2 @SiO 2 core-shell structure. The uncoated and coated nanoparticles were characterized by using X-Ray diffraction technique (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) to study their physico-chemical properties.Eviden… Show more

“…The thresholds of Cu 2 O and CuS were measured to be 1.78 and 0.51 J/cm 2 , respectively. 546 Silica-coated core−shell TiO 2 nanoparticles were synthesized by hydrothermal method 547 and evaluated for their OL performance using the open aperture Z-scan in both pulsed and CW modes at 532 nm. RSA was observed during the open aperture Z-scan using low power CW Nd:YAG laser and was more efficient in the core−shell nanoparticles when compared to individual nanoparticles.…”

“…Nonlinear absorption coefficient b was estimated from Open-aperture (OA) Z-scan data by using the following equation [20,21]. is the linear transmittance of the aperture with r 0 as the aperture radius, and w 0 indicating the beam radius at the aperture in the linear regime, and DF  is the on-axis phase shift at the focus (Z=0).…”
