Optical Fiber Sensor for the Measurement of Electric Field

Abstract: An optical fiber sensor for the measurement of high electric field intensity and voltage by utilizing the electrooptic effect of bismuth silicone oxide single crystal has been successfully developed and the fundamental characteristics have been evaluated. The electric field intensity distribution inside coaxial electrodes have been measured with this sensor. The measured results are in good agreement with the theoretical values.
