Optical Emission of Iron-doped ZnSe Particles in a Chalcogenide Glass

Abstract: Fe2+-doped ZnSe particles were dispersed in a chalcogenide glass matrix amenable to fiber drawing. Adding an alumina shell prevented ZnSe dissolution and preserved normal Fe2+ optical absorption and emission properties.
