Optical design of compact linear fresnel reflector systems

Abstract: Compact linear Fresnel reflector (CLFR) system employing multiple receivers is promising with better optical performance and cost effectiveness compared to linear Fresnel reflector (LFR) system, especially for applications with limited ground availabilities. Nevertheless, only few researches have been conducted to evaluate optical design and performance of the CLFR system. In this study, geometrical models for the CLFR system with flat mirrors and receivers are developed on the basis of polar orientation. A co… Show more

“…It is the combination of their action that converts solar radiation into heat. There are two families of LFC type: collectors with a single receiver, this is the standard and most widespread technology, and collectors with at least two receivers called Compact Linear Fresnel Reflector (CLFR) [7][8][9][10].…”

“…Based on their results, by implementing the theory of variable aim lines, the distribution of circumferential flux on the absorber pipe must be developed considerably. Zhu and Chen (2018) presented various designs of compact LFR concentrator. Additionally, they simulate and empirically analyzed the solar concentrating efficiency of such LFR.…”

“…The results of both revealed good agreements. Zhu and Chen's [25] study presented several CLFRM (compact linear Fresnel reflector mirror) system designs. The experimental and simulation investigations of the CLFRM performance were carried out.…”
