“…Urbach energy values were calculated from the graph between the log of the absorption coefficient inside the y-axis and the energy values inside the x-axis as in Figure (4) pure polymer films (s1) (2.38ev) and samples (s2, s3, s4, s5) polyvinyl alcohol doped with silicon nano carbide in proportions (0.90%, 0.91%, 0.93%, 0.95%)wt respectively at room temperature and the values representing each(2.45ev,0. 2.74ev, 3.67ev) respectively as the literature indicates [22]. In Figure (4) Urbach energy increased in the second , fourth ,and fifth samples and increased in the third sample(2.94ev) slight increase, The high Urbach energy value suggests that the PVA-SiC nanoparticles have more structural disorder [23] due to increased concentrations of nanoparticles, and since the Urbach energy is a measure of the disturbance content, This suggests that following the inclusion of PVA-SiC nanocrystal, a disorder in the form of localized states inside the HOMO-LUMO gap of the PVA matrix has Where: 𝛼 the absorption coefficient and A the absorbance are the t thickness of the cheat.…”

“…This knowledge aids in optimizing the fabrication process and further tailoring the properties of the modified gelatin for specific applications. Future studies can explore the correlation between the observed surface topography and the performance of the modified gelatin in terms of its mechanical strength, drug release behavior and bioactivity [21][22][23][24][25].…”
