Optical and Mechanical Properties of Layered Infrared Interference Filters

Abstract: The design and manufacturing technology of interference-absorbing short-wave filters based on a layered composition of Si–SiO on a sapphire substrate of various shapes was developed. A transition layer of SiO was applied to the surface of the substrate, alternating with layers of Si–SiO with an odd number of quarter-wave layers of materials with high (Si) and low refractive indices (SiO), and the application of an outer layer of SiO as an appropriate control of the materials’ thickness. The optical properties … Show more

“…Analytical methods for solving singular problems about the stress state of coatings under local load in relation to the problems of indentation and interaction with abrasive particles are proposed in papers [ [185] , [186] , [187] ]. Later, these approaches were developed to model the behavior of layered [ 188 , 189 ] and functionally gradient [ 190 ] coatings.…”

“…Among materials, welding materials hold special significance. Chemical-thermal methods [12][13][14], functional coatings [15][16][17], electrospark deposition (ESD) [18][19][20][21][22], thermal spraying [23], and laser hardfacing [24] are some methods utilized. However, the most widespread application is found in the welding process [25].…”

“…The use of carcinogenic and environmentally harmful electrolytes in the implementation of the chromium plating method makes it environmentally hazardous [1,13,14]. PEO is used to form oxide layers on compact aluminum alloys [15][16][17], to oxidize aluminum coatings deposited in various ways on a steel base [18][19][20][21][22], or on other substrates [23,24]. PEO of aluminum alloys makes it possible to obtain surface layers with high hardness (up to 2000 HV), low friction coefficient, high adhesion to the metal base, and low environmental hazard [25][26][27][28].…”
