Opportunities for improvement of process technology for biomethanation processes

Abstract: Biomethanation process is a promising eco-friendly solution for the treatment of organic biomass, which leads to effi cient bioenergy production. In this review, it is pointed out that more research and development is necessary to fi nd the best operational conditions and dedicated reactors for treating the target substrates and to make them accessible to rural areas.
