Operative Outcomes of Open versus Laparoscopic Total Proctocolectomy with Ileal Pouch Anal Anastomosis in Ulcerative Colitis

Abstract: Purpose: During the course of disease, nearly 30% of ulcerative colitis patients receive surgical therapy. Total proctocolectomy with ileal pouch anal anastomosis is a standard procedure.
