The main deficit of quantum dot/dye-sensitised solar cells (QDSSCs) remains the absence of a photosensitiser that can absorb the entire visible spectrum and increase electrocatalytic activity by enhancing the conversion efficiency of QDSSCs. This placed great emphasis on the synthesis route adopted for the preparation of the sensitiser. Herein, we report the fabrication of hexagonal copper monosulfide (CuS) nanocrystals, both hexadecylamine (HDA) capped and uncapped, through thermal decomposition by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and a single-source precursor route. Morphological, structural, and electrochemical instruments were used to assert the properties of both materials. The CuS/HDA photosensitiser demonstrated an appropriate lifetime and electron transfer, while the electron back reaction of CuS lowered the electron lifetime in the QDSSCs. The higher electrocatalytic activity and interfacial resistance observed from current density-voltage (I-V) results agreed with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) results for CuS/HDA. The successful fabrication of hexagonal CuS nanostructures of interesting conversion output suggested that both HDA capped and uncapped nanocrystals could be adopted in photovoltaic cells.

The history of hydro energy in Poland was shown in the article. The first mills were built in the ninth century and the first hydro energy plant was opened in 1896. In 1935, there were 8000 water energy plants and dozen other installations using water energy. War action and nationalisation have caused the crash of hydro energy in Poland. At the moment, there are 761 water energy plants amounting to 994 MW. The Lower Vistula Cascade was described but also use of water for energy purposes in heat plants and waste treatment plants. Technical potential of hydro energy is major. Using already exciting heaps (there are 16,005), it is possible to obtain 14.27 PJ. SWOT analysis has shown that hydro energy in Poland is a wellmastered technology and allows small water retention. Investing in hydro energy in Poland requires a lot of documents. In addition, energetic law is constantly changing. Influence of hydro energy on environment was presented. It was concluded that small hydro energy development is definitely advised in Poland. Small hydro energy stations allow to produce energy and allow small retention in steppe Poland.

In Romania, the hydropower is the main form of renewable source with an important share in energy mix. Despite their valuable advantages on supplying energy and balancing the energy system, public acceptance, environmental, social and economic impact has become a common challenge in development of hydropower projects. Increasing of water consumption and raising awareness regarding available water resources leads to an integrated management approach of them. In this paper the water footprint is estimated for one of the largest Romanian hydropower project, namely Hydropower Plant Vidraru. The water footprint from hydroelectricity is evaluated considering electricity production of the hydropower plant, water footprint of dam construction and three different approaches to quantify water footprint of the reservoir: gross water consumption, net water consumption and water balance. Also, water footprint is assessed based on economic value of the reservoir using allocation coefficients for various purposes of the reservoir. It is estimated that economic benefit of the reservoir is 81.92·106 €/y, with hydroelectricity major contributor.
