Abstract:The Co-free Ni-rich layered cathodes become pivotal to reduce cost and increase benefit toward next-generation Li-ion batteries yet raise a major challenge for their extremely fragile cathode−electrolyte interface (CEI) film. Herein, we report the in situ construction of the Si/B-enriched organic−inorganic hybrid CEI films on LiNi 0.9 Mn 0.1 O 2 (NM91) with the assistance of tris(trimethylsilyl) borate (TMSB) additive. The hybrid film exhibits superior Young's modulus, mechanical strength, and ductility, which… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
