Open-charm meson spectroscopy

Abstract: We present a theoretical framework that accounts for the new D J and D sJ mesons measured in the open-charm sector. These resonances are properly described if considered as a mixture of conventional P −wave quark-antiquark states and four-quark components. The narrowest states are basically P −wave quark-antiquark mesons, while the dominantly four-quark states are shifted above the corresponding two-meson threshold, being broad resonances. We study the electromagnetic decay widths as basic tools to scrutiny th… Show more

“…Subsequent uses include further studies of the Kπ S wave [24][25][26][27] [30,31]. Quasi-model-independent information on the D þ π − S wave could be used to develop better models of the dynamics in the D þ π − system [32][33][34][35]. In this paper, the DP analysis technique is employed to study the contributing amplitudes in…”

“…Nevertheless, the discrepancy between the predictions of various models and the mass measurements [6][7][8][9] suggests that some observed states in the cs case are not simple quark-antiquark configurations. Possible interpretations include more complex structures, such as bound states ("molecules") of other mesons [10], or mixtures of conventional quark-antiquark with four-quark components [11].…”

“…Apartf romt hat therea re some experimental data of theL 3C ollaboration [ 7] reporting the first measurement of them ass and width of the B 1 ( j q = 1/2) and B * 2 ( j q = 3/2) mesons, 5670±10 ± 13 and 5768±5 ± 6M eV respectively.Recently,D0and CDFCollaborations have reported severalresults on the spectroscopyoforbitally excited bottom mesons [8]. In this work it wasproposed that this state could be understood within aunitarized meson model as aquasi-bound cs statecoupled with the nearby S−wave DK threshold, the D sJ (2860) beingthe first radial excitation of the D sJ (2317).Morereferences can be found in [10].
