Abstract:A review of our patients who had been treated with open carpal tunnel release (OCTR) undertaken in 1991 revealed that 78% had an uneventful course of recovery, resuming full function within two to four weeks, and that 25% required out-patient rehabilitation due to the persistence and magnitude of their symptoms three to four weeks postoperatively.
