OP04.06: Prevalence and clinical significance of fetal tricuspid valve regurgitation during the second half of pregnancy

Abstract

Oral poster abstractspresented as an Oral communication, Vancouver, Sept 2005. −80% (CI 95%: 0.76-0.84)in 35 were associated with a pathology. −68% (CI 95%: 0.61-0.70)of 35 were trisomies 21. We present here new data about the −28 LIAVV with defect also found in this study: −7 had abnormal kayotypes: 5 trisomies 21, 1 trisomy 18. In all these 6 cases the defect belonged to the inlet. In the 7th case, a del 22q11, the defect was an outlet defect-21 had a normal karyotype: 2 Viscero atrial heterotaxias with a complete AVSD. 3 other showed an inlet defect (partial or complete AVSD). But the remaining 16 cases were Cono truncal pathologies: the defect was actually not in the inlet but in the outlet. Conclusion: 17 cases (1del 22 q11, 16 normal karyotype) out of 28 LIAVV with defect, 61% (CI 95%:0.55-0.66) were conotruncal pathologies. All these LIAVV, found on the 4 Chamber view, were associated with an outlet defect. That means that CT pathologies actually known as being prenatally diagnosed by exploring the outlet could be highly suspected on the fetal 4 chamber view when the crux of the heart is well examined.
