“…Surgeon experience was evaluated based on the number of years in practice and we used regression analysis with years in practice as a continuous variable as opposed to categorical grouping of number of years in practice; even with this methodology, we similarly found a bias toward surgeons with fewer years in practice. Most recently, Trehan et al [19] investigated the predictors of higher online ratings among hand surgeons. The authors found that positive comments were more related to perceived surgeon ability while negative comments were independent of perceived surgeon ability.…”
