Online Gaming Practices of Preteens: Independent Entertainment Time and Transmedia Game Play

Abstract: This article examines online gaming practices of 7-to 11-year-olds in home settings in the United States. Based on observations and interviews with children and parents, the analysis considers the specificity of preteen experiences within domestic settings.
