Online Arabic writer identification based on Beta-elliptic model

Abstract: This paper proposes an automatic text-independent online Arabic writer identification system. The main contribution of our system is to explore the utility of Beta elliptic model in features extraction for online writer identification, due to the rich output of Beta-elliptic model in terms of graphical, kinematical and biometrical data. The efficiency of the considered features has been evaluated using feed forward neural network classifier. Experimental results on ADAB Database show the performance of the pro… Show more

“…The Beta elliptic was performed in systems for writer identification and verification. [29], [30], [31] An online handwriting script can be segmented into segments and each segment is a group of strokes. In fact, the number of strokes is identified automatically from the curvilinear velocity representation.…”

“…In work [9], the use of subtractive clustering is suggested to capture the various writing styles/prototypes of handwriting. The authors in [10, 11] employ the utility of Beta‐elliptic model, to describe the spatial and velocity profiles of the segmented sub‐stroke. In another work, the writing styles present in the pre‐segmented graphemes are represented by using the multi‐fractal concept [12].…”
