One-Step Synthesis of Graphene Oxide–Polyamidoamine Dendrimer Nanocomposite Hydrogels by Self-Assembly

Abstract: Graphene oxide (GO)-polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimer nanocomposite hydrogels were prepared through one-step synthesis by mixing a GO suspension and a PAMAM solution at varying ratio of GO to PAMAM. The materials self-assembled into physically crosslinked networks, mainly driven by electrostatic interactions between the oppositely charged GO nanosheets and PAMAM dendrimer. The chemical structure of PAMAM dendrimer was studied by mass spectrometry, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and potentiometric titra… Show more

“…Then, GO/PAMAM solution was produced by one-step self-assembly. (29) 0.5 mL of PAMAM water solution was added dropwise into 5.5 mL of GO solution with stirring for about 30 s to obtain the GO/PAMAM solution. Subsequently, a mercury standard solution with a concentration of 1000 ppm was diluted using the dilution formula M 1 V 1 = M 2 V 2 to produce Hg 2+ solutions with concentrations of 0.5, 1, 5, 10, 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 ppm.…”

“…The GO spectrum depicts characteristic absorption bands at 3313.43 and 1432.82 cm −1 , which are attributed to the O-H group from the carboxyl group. (29,37) Furthermore, the weaker band at 2895.71 cm −1 is attributed to the presence of the carboxylic acid COOH. (38) Next, the bands at 1122.75 and 1661.52 cm −1 correspond to the C-O stretching vibrations of the carbonyl and C=C groups, respectively.…”

“…Chemically cross‐linked materials based on the incorporation of amine‐terminations, such as PAMAM dendrimers, have been reported, where dendrimers have been linked to PAMAM collagen , silica gel , silsesquioxanes and, more recently, graphene oxide (GO) polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimer nanocomposite hydrogels, used to improve material mechanical and adsorption properties .…”
