One step synthesis cadmium sulphide/reduced graphene oxide sandwiched film modified electrode for simultaneous electrochemical determination of hydroquinone, catechol and resorcinol

Abstract: In this work, a novel sandwiched film of cadmium sulphide/reduced graphene oxide (CdS/r-GO) was synthesized and the modified electrodes were successfully used to simultaneously determine hydroquinone (HQ), catechol (CC) and resorcinol (RC).

“…Based on the results in Table 1 Table 2. Based on the data in Table 2, the proposed modied electrode 12,21,[37][38][39] seems to provide a favorable alternative for the determination of water pollution such as HQ, CC, RC and NO 2 À in real samples with satisfactory results. A simple fabrication procedure, a wide linear range, high stability and good reproducibility for repeated determinations, suggest this electrode being as a good, cheap and an attractive candidate for practical applications.…”

“…Thus, the values of α and k s were estimated to be 0.45, 0.69 s −1 for HQ, and 1.09, 1.05 s −1 for CC. These k s values are better than those for sensors that are based on CS [50,51], indicating that HQ and CC have faster electron transfer kinetics on MC–CeNPs–CS/GCE.…”

“…Cadmium sulfide (CdS), a transition metal dichalcogenide, possesses different unique properties, including quantum characteristics and a bandgap of 2.42 eV, thus attracting great interest in sensing applications [182] . Hu et al [182] . prepared a CdS‐rGO nanocomposite via a one‐step reaction to exhibit synergic properties for dihydroxybenzene sensing.…”
