One-step hydrothermal synthesis of Ag/Cu2O heterogeneous nanostructures over Cu foil and their SERS applications

Abstract: In this paper, Ag/Cu 2 O heterogeneous nanostructured films (HNFs) were prepared by a one-step hydrothermal method. It involved only two materials, AgNO 3 and Cu foil, in the aqueous solution to form Ag/Cu 2 O HNF. X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) were used to characterize the Ag/Cu 2 O films. Ag nanop… Show more

“…PHI 5000 Versaprobe II X-ray 6 photoelectron spectrometer (ULVAC-PHI) using Al Kα as X-ray beam was used to understand the effect of catalysis on the oxidation states of the Cu, Mg and O components of the catalyst sample. 4d) 26,27 . Figure 4a shows peaks corresponding to Cu, Mg and O in the XPS spectrum for the sample.…”

“…Moreover, Cu@Cu 2 O and Cu 2 O hollow dendrites were found to be excellent materials. [32][33][34] SERS from the probe molecule adsorbed on semiconductor materials is different from the probe molecule adsorbed on the noble metal materials because the CT and resonance mechanism contribute to the semiconductor-based enhancement. Recently, many experiments and theoretical approaches have been carried out to demonstrate the importance of the CM enhancement in SERS-based studies.…”

“…[15] The Cu 2p 3/2 peak of CuO should appear at 933.6 eV with very strong satellite peaks. [32,33] Figure 4s hows there are essentially no satellite peaks. Judging from the XPS results, one can conclude that only at iny amount of CuO has been formed, and the particle surfaces shouldb em ostly metallic copper.…”
