One-quasiparticle bands in neutron-richW187

Abstract: Modest spin states in neutron-rich 187 W have been populated by using a 186 W( 18 O, 17 O) one-neutron transfer reaction. Negative-parity bands previously known are extended to higher spin, and two positive-parity bands are newly identified. Configurations based on ν i 13/2 orbitals are assigned to these bands from an analysis of the level energy systematics as well as the g factors derived from in-band branching ratios.

“…The present work describes the results of β-decay measurements of the ground state 187g Ta, whose spin assignment will be determined by using the log( f t) values extracted from the measured β-decay half-life and β-branching ratios. The γ rays seen in the present experiment had been observed in-beam by Shizuma et al [16], but they had not been seen previously in β decay.…”

“…For example, high-spin states in neutron-rich 182 Hf have been successfully identified through a deep inelastic reaction with a 136 Xe beam incident on 180 Hf [1]. Using 18 O-induced multi-nucleon transfer reactions such as ( 18 O, 16 O), ( 18 O, 17 O), ( 18 O, 19 F), and ( 18 O, 20 Ne), modest spin states of neutron-rich nuclei have been studied [4][5][6][7][8][9]. In the present work, excited states of the neutron-rich 183 Ta have been populated following a two-neutron transfer reaction of 181 Ta( 18 O, 16 O).…”

“…In a great number of odd-A transitional nuclei, structures built on neutron Nilsson orbitals associated with the i 13/2 shell have been extensively studied through in-beam γ -ray spectroscopy [1][2][3][4][5][6][7]. Furthermore, a number of lowlying negative-parity bands have been observed in several odd-A deformed nuclei in the 180-190 mass region [7,8].…”
