One-piece immediate-load post-extraction implants in labial bone-deficient upper jaws

Abstract: Introduction Contusive trauma or malocclusionrelated periodontal disease can severely compromise the upper anterior teeth, leading to labial bone resorption and ultimately loss of function and unsightly root exposure. To resolve these issues, we propose the replacement of compromised teeth using one-piece, immediateload, post-extraction implants. These can be implanted and fitted with customised temporary crowns in a single surgical procedure, restoring function and aesthetics and allowing recovery of the bone… Show more

“…[1][2][3] Clinicians from the study group of NuovoGISI have long and successful experiences with immediate loading of maxillary implants connected together by intraoral welding. [4][5][6][7] Intraoral welding can join and stabilize implants by the use of a titanium wire or bar that is permanently connected to the implants. An electric current is used to fuse the titanium to the abutments in milliseconds.…”

“…There are very few scientific articles describing polished surface one-piece screw implants in periodontally involved cases with successful results and those available are mainly case reports. [2324252627] One of the reasons for this may be the fact that the Italian school of screw implants with the longest long-term observations and richest experience in this field rarely published in English. [28293031]…”
