On Underdispersed Count Kernels for Smoothing Probability Mass Functions

Abstract: Only a few count smoothers are available for the widespread use of discrete associated kernel estimators, and their constructions lack systematic approaches. This paper proposes the mean dispersion technique for building count kernels.
