On the Theory of the Faraday Effect in Dielectric Ionic Crystals and Crystals with Structural Phase Transitions of Jahn‐Teller Type

Abstract

The expressions for the components of the tensor of linear magnetooptical effect in ionic dielectric crystals and crystals with structural phase transitions of Jahn-Teller type are obtained in general form. The Faraday effect in KH,PO,-type crystals is considered. Calculations are made of the components of the tensor of linear magneto-optical effect for TmAs04 crystals and their temperature dependences are investigated.
