Abstract:We investigate the performance of various methods of symplectic integration, which are based on two part splitting of the integration operator, for the numerical integration of multidimensional Hamiltonian systems. We implement these schemes to study the behaviour of the one-dimensional quartic Klein Gordon disordered lattice with many degrees of freedom (of the order of a few hundreds) and compare their efficiency for the weak chaos regime of the system's dynamics. For this reason we perform extensive numerica… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
