This study's aim was to research the ultimate loads and failure modes of single-bolted pultruded glass-fiber-reinforced polymer (PGFRP) connections reinforced by glass fiber sheets (GFSs) under pin-bearing conditions. In total, 144 specimens with various geometric parameters of GFRP bolted connections with different ratio values of the end distance of PGFRP plate to bolt diameter (e/d) and various ratio values of width of PGFRP plate to bolt diameter (w/d) were considered, and their results are here discussed (e/d = 2,3,4 and w/d = 2,3,4,5). Three types of GFSs (0 /90 GFSs, ±45 GFSs, and chopped strand mat GFSs) were molded by the vacuumassisted resin transfer molding (VaRTM) method and used to strengthen the connections. The results show that all three types of GFSs had good effects on the increase in the ultimate load of the connections. In addition, the strengthening effects were decreased with the increase in the e/d ratio of the connections for all types of GFSs. Moreover, theoretical equations were suggested to forecast the ultimate loads and failure modes of pinbearing single GFS-strengthened PGFRP connections with high accuracy (less than 12% deviation).

Introduction The peculiar characteristics of short track speed skating should be integrated into the psychology of competitions; it is considered that elite athletes engaged in this particular sport should have a healthy psychic condition. Objective Investigate the explosive power of female speed skaters in short track speed skating. Methods 10 key athletes from the national short track speed skating team were selected, and explosive power was tested by T-test, hexagonal test, and pro sensitivity test. Data analysis was performed using an independent sample t-test, differences in the results of related test indicators between groups were analyzed, and repeated measures analysis of variance was used. Results During the explosive kick phase, knee extension speed increased linearly from 210°/S to 600°/S, and hip extension speed increased linearly from 200°/S to 400°/S. Conclusion The development of muscle group strength and explosive power during training often shows differences in the degree of contraction, which is related to the arrangement of training methods. The present paper highlights the benefits of multiaxially reinforced profiles manufactured by out of die ultraviolet (UV) cured pultrusion. Thanks to the low pulling forces inherent to this technology, we could manufacture a quasi‐isotropic laminate with high fiber content (62% in volume). Even if just one fifth of the reinforcement was arranged longitudinally, the fiber orientation at the ±45° and 90° layers was not distorted. The in‐plane properties of this new balanced reinforcement configuration improved the impact and notched resistance compared to a reference configuration typical of conventional pultrusion, consisting of roving and continuous strand mats. Additionally, the tensile strength achieved in the transversal direction for the new configuration was an order of magnitude higher. Therefore, this novel technology has the potential to broaden the applications targeted by pultrusion to those where multiaxial load cases could be encountered.Highlights Multiaxially reinforced profiles were made by out of die UV cured pultrusion. These profiles presented enhanced in‐plane properties. Impact resistance was better than that of a typical reinforcement configuration. Notched tensile strength was also improved in both principal directions.
