“…It has been observed that reactions of N 3 P 3 Cl 6 with bifunctional reagents can afford spiro-, ansa-, bino-and open chain (dangling) products (Beşli et al, 2006). Reaction of hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene with N/O donor type bifunctional reagents such as aminoalcohols (Beşli et al, 2007;Sournies et al, 1997;Deutsch & Shaw, 1990), aminophenols (Işıklan et al, 2010;İlter et al, 2007) and aminonaphthols (İlter et al, 2004;Tercan et al, 2004) predominantly gave spiro derivatives. Cyclophosphazenes have found industrial applications such as in the production of ionic liquids (Omotowa et al, 2004), liquid crystals (Barbera et al, 2005), dendrimers having chiral ligands for asymmetric catalysis (Schneider et al, 1999), flame retardants (Ding et al, 2005), advanced elastomers (Allcock, 2006), rechargeable lithium batteries and polymer electrolytes (Xu et al, 2006;Allcock & Wood, 2006), non-linear optics (Li et al, 2004), biomedical mambranes (Singh et al, 2006), and biomedical materials including synthetic bones (Greish et al, 2005).…”
