On the road to per cent accuracy – III. Non-linear reaction of the matter power spectrum to massive neutrinos

Abstract: We analytically model the non-linear effects induced by massive neutrinos on the total matter power spectrum using the halo model reaction framework of Cataneo et al. 2019. In this approach the halo model is used to determine the relative change to the matter power spectrum caused by new physics beyond the concordance cosmology. Using standard fitting functions for the halo abundance and the halo mass-concentration relation, the total matter power spectrum in the presence of massive neutrinos is predicted to p… Show more

“…This is sufficient for modelling the mildly non-linear regime, where the baryonic acoustic oscillation peak is located, but these techniques cannot be used to predict the signal in the highly non-linear regime that WL analyses will probe. The reaction method, however, can in principle achieve an accuracy of ≈1% up to scales k 10 h Mpc −1 when using the results of an emulator as a baseline (Giblin et al 2019;Cataneo et al 2020).…”

“…Further worth noting is that an extension of the current framework has also been developed to include massive neutrinos (Cataneo et al 2020;Wright et al 2019) and its implementation into ReACT will be the focus of an upcoming work. We also look to extend the current code to galaxy clustering observables, namely the redshift space power spectrum for biased tracers.…”

“…In this paper we have combined the halo model reaction for modified gravity and non-constant dark energy (Cataneo et al 2019) with the halo model reaction for massive neutrinos (Cataneo et al 2020). Top is = 0 and bottom is = 1.…”
