On the performance of dual‐branch selection diversity combining in ακμ fading environments

Abstract: In this paper, the performance of a dual-branch selection combining (SC) system is analyzed over − − fading channels. First, an outage probability (OP) expression is presented for a dual-branch diversity with the SC scheme in − − fading channels by using cumulative distribution function (CDF). By using the probability density function (PDF) and CDF of − − distribution, the PDF of total output instantaneous signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is obtained which is subsequently utilized for the analysis of the considered… Show more

“…To date, a number of studies have been performed on the performance analysis of relay-aided wireless communication systems [12,[17][18][19][20][21][22][23]. The authors in [17] derived the expression of the outage probability for a dual-hop DF relaying over a Rayleigh-generalized gamma fading channel.…”

“…14 The ASER analysis of L-branch SC receiver is given for Nakagami-m and Weibull faded channels in, 15,16 respectively. In, 17 the OP, ABER, and ACC for a two-branch SC receiver for 𝛼-𝜅-𝜇 faded channels are studied, however, the derived ABER expression is not exact and generalized ABER and also the derived EC expression is not valid for non-integer 𝜇. In, 18 authors have studied capacity L p -norm diversity combining receivers in generalized fading channels.…”
