“…The chloroplastic elongation factor Tu (EF-Tu) (gi|449529128) and the mitochondrial elongation factor Tu (EF-Tu) (gi|449515049), which function in elongation of the growing peptide chains (Momcilovic and Ristic 2007;Suzuki et al 2007), were down-regulated under salt stress, but were induced by NaCl applied with Spd. Exogenous Spd also induced three proteins that decreased abundances of proteins under salt stress, a 10 kDa chaperonin (gi|449470662), a 20 kDa chaperonin (gi|449521557) and a trigger factor-like protein TIG (gi|449463242), which function in chloroplast protein folding (Geisler and Bailly 2007;Sharkia et al 2003). These results suggested that high level of polyamines might assist their molecular partners and play roles in protein synthesis, processing and assembly.…”

“…CPN20 is part of the family of Type I chaperonins that function in protein folding together with CPN60 proteins and CPN10 proteins (Koumoto et al, 1999;Sharkia et al, 2003;Vitlin Gruber et al, 2013). It remains to be determined if and how CPN20 has a functional relationship to ClpT1 and ClpT2.…”

“…Chloroplasts contain two dominant protein chaperones systems, namely the CPN60/CPN21/CPN10 (66,67) and the HSP70/GrpE system (68). The Arabidopsis HSP70-1 (At4g24280.1) and HSP70-2 (At5g49910.1) are abundant proteins with a broad substrate pool, and their abundance was constant across all the HM-A fractions, consistent with their wide range of substrates.…”
